The construction of the main cable is a key and difficult process in the construction of Fenglin Extra Large Bridge, and it is the main force system of the suspension bridge. The main cable is divided into two sections, left and right, with a length of approximately 971 meters and a total weight of 4131 tons. A single main cable consists of 131 cables (including 4 back cables), each consisting of 91 zinc aluminum magnesium coated steel wires with a diameter of 5.45 millimeters. The maximum weight of a single cable strand is about 16.4 tons.
The winch system installed on both sides of the bridge requires very high performance, stability, and reliability of the frequency converter.
